The dream that started it all.
In 2008, we built the world's first series-production hybrid motor yacht. We've been refining that dream ever since.
We started with a simple question: what if a yacht could be silent? Not just quieter at idle - completely silent. No generator. No diesel rumble at anchor. Just the sound of water against the hull and the wind in the rigging of the boats around you.
In 2008 we built the answer: the Greenline 33 - the world's first series-production hybrid motor yacht. Solar panels on the hardtop. A lithium house bank that ran the boat overnight. And an electric motor that let you cruise out of the marina without waking your neighbors.
Sixteen years and six generations of H-Drive later, hybrid is no longer the exception on a Greenline - it's the standard. Every yacht we build is designed around the same idea: that you shouldn't have to choose between long-range cruising and silent comfort. With three propulsion modes on a single drivetrain, you don't.
Three principles. Every yacht we build.
We built the world's first series-production hybrid yacht in 2008. Sixteen years and six generations later, we still ship more hybrid motor yachts than anyone else.
Every Greenline is designed around the lithium bank. Solar feeds it during the day. Electric runs the boat overnight. No generator drone at 3 a.m.
Long-range diesel, silent electric, and the hybrid mode that ties them together. One drivetrain, every cruising scenario.
From 1996 to today.
Master boatbuilders Vladimir Zinchenko and Jernej Jakopin found Seaway, a Slovenian design and engineering studio that would go on to design boats for some of the world's biggest yacht brands.
The Greenline 33 launches at the Düsseldorf Boat Show - the first hybrid motor yacht built on a series production line. Solar panels on the hardtop, lithium house bank, and a parallel hybrid drive that lets you cruise silent or under diesel.
Six years after launch, Greenline crosses 1,000 hybrid yachts on the water - proving that hybrid propulsion isn't a science project, it's a production reality.
The North American distributor opens its US base in Florida, bringing the full Greenline range - and a dedicated US service network - to American owners.
Greenline launches the OceanClass 68 - at the time the largest production hybrid yacht in the world. Twin Caterpillar diesels plus twin 60kW electric motors and a 138kWh battery bank.
Sixteen years and six generations of hybrid drive later, H-Drive is the most refined hybrid system at sea - and it's standard equipment across most of the Greenline range.
Slovenian craft. Florida home.
Every Greenline is built by hand at the J&V Yachts shipyard in Slovenia - the same engineering team behind the original hybrid 33. From there she crosses the Atlantic to our Florida base, where the US team handles commissioning, sea trials, dealer support, and service for owners across North America.
